When my friends Jonathan and Domenic came to me with their new business, thelivingproject, I was incredibly excited. Besides the fact that I think these two guys are awesome, this project had a lot of challenges.

First of all, the kinds of trips these guys are putting together are pretty high-end, luxurious retreats for people who are serious about their spiritual and physical wellness. The site had to look and feel expensive.More than that, though, there are a lot of legal considerations when you’re traveling to a foreign country.

That required a waiver/contract (drawn up by a lawyer — I know my limits), which has to be executed for each retreat before registration. In fact, they have to complete the contract before registration even becomes possible. By integrating Gravity Forms and a ton of hand-coding, I was able to get the job done, all while creating a user experience zen enough for any yogi.
